My Weightloss Journey

im back today with quite a personal post, after seeing other girls blog about their weight loss journeys it really inspired me to write about my own, i feel i have alot to share with others and alot i want to talk about but sometimes its hard to talk about these things with people in your daily life and i want to reach out to others who are in or have been in the same position as myself. I believe its not always easy to understand how hard losing weight and getting healthy can be unless you have been there and experienced it for yourself, it definitely isn't always easy especially being young and the feelings, emotions and ups and downs can sometimes be really overwhelming but at the same time it is very rewarding when you start noticing changes and realising that your hard work and commitment is paying off! 

I have not always struggled with weight, in fact when I was a really young child it was quiet the opposite i was quiet skinny and my mother in fact had a challenge on her hands alot of the time to actually get me to finish my dinners! It wasn't until i was around 11 years old that  i began gaining most of the weight, i had  struggled to fit in at school and never really had alot of confidence i knew that starting senior school was going to be a struggle for me. Throughout school and as a child i can remember being bullied and at times it was very serious i believe to this day that this is the reason for my weight gain throughout the years and the reason my confidence and self esteem has always been low.  

There have been many occasions throughout my life that i have tried to lose weight but i have always given up or felt like I couldn't do it, i think something just needs to click in your mind and thats exactly how i feel now, I feel ready and more determined than ever to make this work and give myself the happiness i know i deserve, im fighting back and i will literally allow nothing to stop me reaching my goal, its hard and seems very slow but I know I will get there anybody can do it, you can do it. 

I joined Slimming World this year for the 3rd time and i have promised myself it will be the last time, before joining Slimming World i lost 10lb on my own and lost a further 2st 4lb following the plan, and it is the best thing i have ever done. 

I just cant wait to see what the future holds for me, i want my life back, there was a point where i couldn't bare to face people or leave my house for fear of being laughed at, stared at and made fun of but each day and every lb i lose things just get better.  

Here is a picture of my weight loss so far, I am not even half way through my mission yet and I am fully aware that i have a way to go. I have not got a target weight, or a particular size i would like to be, im basing this on my happiness and how I feel I look, im not allowing society to influence me, beautiful celebrities, super models, none of that. I just want to be a fully happy version of me and I know this is something I need to do for myself. 

Im not fully ready to share any other before pictures at this point, but heres one i found and would like to share with others :) i just hope by sharing just a little part of my journey i can help sombody realise that its not too late to make a change and it isnt impossible.

Teeth Whitening!

Ive recentley made a new purchace and wanted to share my first impressions, ive always really wanted to have a go at whitening my teeth and have been really interested in the crest white strips for a very long time however at this point i have not been able to justify spending that much on teeth whitening so in the mean time i have decided to opt for a cheaper option and give it a whirl, the one i purchased is by Brilliant and i got this for £5.99 from Savers. It claims to give you a brighter, whiter smile in 2 weeks.

 

 

The kit comes with a activater that you apply to your teeth first, a gum sheild type thing, the whitening gel and a toothpaste for after. You are supposed to leave it on for 10 minitues and then brush your teeth with the toothpaste provided, you can do this twice a day.

 

I have only used this kit 4 times so far and i do really like the way it makes my teeth feel after, i havnt noticed a big difference yet but its still early days and i will be sure to keep you updated on how this works out for me.

 

Has anybody else tried this kit and if so how did you find it? Im interested to know if it does what it says on the tin! :)

I LOVE Christmas!!

Hiii everyone im here with a Christmassy post today!! Its 12 days until xmas and im really excited , i love the build up to Christmas and the atmosphere, it always makes me feel so jolly! We dont really do much for Christmas in my house we just tend to stay in really but i just love the xmas feel , the Christmas songs on the music channel, Christmas films, Mince pies!!!

Glossybox September 2012

I recentley signed up to Glossybox, its somthing i have wanted to do for such a long time but i have never really got around to subscribing, i have seen so many positive Glossybox reviews and just thought right thats it im going to go for it and subscribe, so i did :)

Before i signed up to Glossybox i was aware that unfortunatley things like this are somtimes a little bit hit and miss and that your not going to always going to be 100% satisfied, this is the first box i have ever recieved and i was happy with the contents however i have seen better months on blogs but i am more than willing to stay subscribed for future months to see whats to come as i love to try out new products!! :) As you may already know this months box was a speacial one, it was designed by Londonbased up and coming illustrator Maggie Li. The theame of this box was Rising Stars.

Maghtabian Oil

The thing i was most excited about trying this month was the Maghtabian Oil, it contains Argan oil which is brilliant for your hair, it is described as a product that is far beyond a hair serum, it is a mix between serum and conditioner and it is also a hair treatment.

I have been wanting to try somthing like this for such a long time as my hair seems to be looking really dull latley and it has been lacking shine. This product worked wonders for me and really made my hair look so shiny and healthy, it did not leave my hair looking greasy (as some serums i have found to do this) it left my hair feeling very soft and healthy, i would reccomend that you use a small amount and not to go too overboard with this as a little bit does go a long way :)! i love using this product and the smell is beautiful. I would definatley buy the full size of this product and would reccomend it to anybody who is looking for a hair serum that is a little bit more high end than drug store ones.

 

                                                                                             

                                                                         

                                                                                                        

Vichy Idealia Day Care Cream

I have been trying this Vichy cream out for over a week now and i really have been enjoying using it, it makes my skin feel really smooth and it brightens my skin and gives me a slight glow. I have oily skin so i was quiet wary of this at first as it is quiet thick and i tend to just stick to lighter moistrisers that wont sit on top of my skin and leave it greasy. This product is one of them that is brilliant for any skin type, it soaks in to the skin really well and it is perfect under your makeup as it helps create a really smooth base. Im not sure if i would re purchase this product as the price is the only down side, im not sure if i would want to spend that much on a facial moistriser however i am going to keep using this until my sample size has gone and then i will decide whether it is worth it to purchase the full size.

 

 

Balance Me

I have never really been one for using eye creams, i have not really ever found that they make much difference to my eyes and usually i just give up! This balance Me eye cream is designed to soothe the eyes and is designed to smooth away dark shadows and reduce the appearance of fine lines. I will admit i have not yet noticed that my dark circles have become less obvious but i am going to continue to use it as i dont feel that i have been using it long enough to really notice a differance, one thing i have noticed though is that it is really very soothing on my eyes and i love using it especially first thing in the morning when im feeling really tired, the smell if very lovley as well i really like it alot! Like the Vinchy cream, i want to carry on using my sample until i decide if it is worth it to purchase the full size.

 

 

Lady GaGa Fame

I was slightly dissapointed that i recieved this sample in my box as it was the kind of thing i could have just picked up for free at a drugstore, so the fact that it was part of the list of products i had paid for seemed a little unfair, however i do love the scent and i do plan to purchase it in full size, it is very sweet and girly and not what i expected from Lady GaGa, i think the fact that is is a black fluid is really cool aswell and its definatley somthing i have never seen before.

Rodial 5 minitue Facial

Im really sad to say this but i did not enjoy using these products at all. I didnt find that they left my skin feeling any different and the next day i noticed that i had a few new break outs, i cant be 100% sure as to wether it was this product that broke me out, but i just would not purchase them however i have heard so many positive things about these so maybe it was just not suited to my skin type :)

Fave Mascara!

Hiiia everyone!

Im here with a review of my all time fave mascara, Soap and glory thick and fast.

    I first came across this mascara when it came as a freebie in Elle magazine, i had heard about this mascara before but wasnt too sure if i wanted to purchase it at first as ive always just known Soap and Glory to sell skincare so i wasnt really sure what to expect but when i saw that it was free with Elle i jumped at the chance to try it, and i did not regret it!

This mascara is described by Soap and Glory as a false lash effect mascara that creates longer, fuller lashes with no flake technology, i have to agree with this it lenghthens my lashes but most of all makes them so thick which i love as ive always had such short thin lashes so a thickening mascara that truly works is a beauty blessing!

I really love both the outer and inner packaging of this product, Soap and Glory really do put alot of thought into the design the products really stand out, as for the packaging of the mascara itself i aboslutley love it, pink and black together have always been one of my fave combinations.

The brush on this mascara is quiet thick but goes thinner towards the end which is good for grabbing the hard to get lashes i always find that thicker wands are better for volume and thinner wants are great for length.

Somthing i like to do just to add that extra bit of oomph is to use two mascaras, i somtimes use the thick and fast with Rimmels lash accelerator which i find is amazing for adding length, by using two i feel that i get a really great result, ive used so many different mascaras in the past but now i dont feel the need to ever change again im that pleased!!

Thankyou so much for taking the time to view my blog, im new to blogging so it may take a little time for me to get into the swing of things but please bare with me! :D

My name is Nikki and im a 21 year old girl from England. ive always had such a love for beauty and  fashion and have been a follower of beauty blogs and beauty youtubers for years.

I have decided to set up my own blog as i feel ive got so much i want to share and as i havnt got many friends that are as crazy about makeup as me (and trust me im slightly obsessed!!) i want somwhere i  can come and share my loves and dislikes! :D I want my blog to be a happy place to come and i want you all to feel welcome, i love meeting new people :)
I am currentley a follower of Slimming World and i would also like to use this blog to be somwhere people can come for help and ideas, and a place where i can share my own experience with weightloss. I believe that nomatter what shape or size everybody desevres to feel great about themselves.
